Sacred Consecration of the Three Saints of the West at Perpetual Memorial Park Kulai, Buddhist Devotion for Universal Peace and Wisdom

Perpetual Memorial Park Berhad in Kulai, Johor, held a profound Consecration Ceremony of the Three Saints of the West. This solemn event celebrated Buddhist traditions, inviting the Saints’ sacred presence to bless all beings while praying for peace, prosperity, and the cultivation of wisdom for ancestors in the Pure Land and devotees alike.
Venerables from Sui Yuan Xiao Zhu led the rituals, commencing with resonant chanting of sutras and sacred invocations. Amid a reverent atmosphere, devotees offered deep ceremonial bows, their hearts united in seeking the all-pervading light of the Buddha’s blessings and enduring grace for all sentient beings.
The Symbolic Meaning of the Three Saints of the West

The “Three Saints of the West” refer to Amitabha Buddha, Avalokitesvara (Guanyin) Bodhisattva, and Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, the core figures in Pure Land Buddhism. Amitabha Buddha represents infinite light and life, guiding sentient beings to the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Avalokitesvara embodies great compassion, offering salvation to all and relieving suffering. Mahasthamaprapta symbolises wisdom and radiant power, leading practitioners toward liberation through wisdom.
In Buddhist practice, the Three Saints of the West are not only symbols of the Pure Land but also a spiritual refuge for practitioners. The installation of their sacred statues at Perpetual Memorial Park, along with the consecration ceremony, signifies an earnest prayer for their eternal presence, blessing devotees with peace of mind and body, family harmony, and success in all endeavors.

The unveiling ceremony was conducted by Perpetual Memorial Park Berhad CEO Mr Yap Keng Yong, together with Chief marketing development officer Mr Yap Keng Yau and COO Mr Aaron Lee officially marking the opening of the ceremony. This was followed by the Purification Ritual (Sajing) and the Consecration Ceremony (Kaiguang), where the presiding venerable sprinkled pure Dharma water to cleanse the sacred space and purify the hearts of all present.
Devotees joined their palms in reverence, chanting the Amitabha Sutra and reciting the holy name of Amitabha Buddha. The resonant chanting filled the venue, creating an atmosphere of solemnity and awe. With deep sincerity, the faithful prayed for Amitabha Buddha’s guidance to the Pure Land, for Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s compassion to remove obstacles and suffering, and for Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva’s blessings of wisdom and light.
In addition to the traditional Buddhist rites, the organiser also prepared flower and fruit offerings, symbolising purity, enlightenment, and the perfection of merit and virtue. The entire ceremony was imbued with joy and devotion.
