Miku Bun (Red Tortoise Bun) is a popular Hokkienese pastry, commonly found in Taiping, Ipoh and Johor Bahru. It's typically used as a gesture of respect for deities, ancestors and wandering spirits.

Some people fry the sacrificial Siu Yuk (roast pork) with soy sauce, garlic and rice, then slice the Miku bun and add Siu Yuk inside to make the Chinese version of this unique sandwich!
