May our ancestors of all generations be freed from suffering and attain bliss. May all devotees share in the Dharma’s blessings and may these merits extend endlessly.

The two-day Ullambana Festival included Buddhist and Taoist chanting ceremonies dedicated to ancestors, as well as a life liberation (animal release) ritual. On the final day, the “Breaking of Hell” ceremony was held — symbolizing the opening of light and the deliverance of sentient beings from suffering. Merits were dedicated once more to ancestors, praying for peace and liberation for all beings.

As the Dharma Boat was sent off in the final ritual, everyone offered their blessings and heartfelt remembrance to the other shore through the rising flames — filling the human world with Dharma joy.
